Seeley Lake ROCKS
about
Seeley Lake ROCKS promotes outdoor, human-powered recreation in the Clearwater Valley. Currently, we manage or help manage three projects. Our fair-weather pet is the Lakeview Trail - four miles of bliss between Placid Lake State Park and Tuppers Lake. The Nature Conservancy worked with ROCKS to create the trail, and ROCKS maintains it. In the winter, we co-manage a skating rink with LIONS Club. To encourage the public to use it, we do our best to maintain good ice and provide many pairs of skates on-site. ROCKS also erected a yurt at the Seeley Creek trails so frozen skiers could warm themselves while enjoying our amazing Nordic ski trails (meticulously maintained by the Seeley Lake Nordic club). We have since sold the yurt to the Nordic club, but still throw labor behind their trail-clearing and firewood-stocking efforts.
We hope to balance these and future endeavors with our ability to effectively execute them; we are a small group with limited means, but are proud to help expand recreational opportunities in the valley!
